so i spent six hours with emergency room physicians in waterloo. we need -- it's evident when i was there with them -- we need to look at making sure we don't over prescribe opioids to people that have pain. some folks came in after six hours in the emergency room because they wanted pain pills and they were not in pain. so they were shopping emergency rooms for opioids. secondly, we need to do a good job, a better job of prescribing things that are not addictive to control pain. no one wants their patients in pain. we all understand that. we all agree with that. there alternative methods to deal with pain that are not addicting as an opioid is. we need to look at that, but we passed over 60 bills in the house this year to help fund dissemination of information amongst the healthcare community and also research and help give access to those types of things that are not as addicting as an opioid. is. >> representative think i finkenauer, same question. what does congress need to do moving forward to address the issue? rep. finkenauer: i think this i
