if you are familiar with the washington street and watertown street split. the restaurant hugs the corner. if you go straight down from chestnut street, you have to make the left or the right. it appears this car could not. reason. i don' t want to speculate, you can see how far deep into the restaurant it is. expect a number of people were having dinner tonight. maria: reid lamberty is on the scene. can you hear us? reid: i got you. a terrible scene right now. we are at the intersection of washington street and chestnut street in west newton. it is a sweet tomatoes restaurant where there is a small suv that has completely gone inside the restaurant. the restaurant space is not very large but there has been at least two fatalities as a result of this accident. multiple injuries. i spoke with a woman who witnessed the crash. her car actually got hit by the suv that went into the restaurant. the only thing she told me was the car was going 30 to 40 miles per hour and at no point did it appear to be breaking. if it did, the brakes did not work. medical conditio

kind of jets out there where watertown and washington come together right there. we did see some -- here is other pictures we're seeing, some of the rescue crews working on people that they were able to get out of the restaurant. how this car ended up all the way inside the sweet tomatoes restaurant. the other picture, you saw concrete barriers that were on the other side of this restaurant. this side, i don't appear to see any concrete barriers but you can see here, the fire crews are working very hard here. you can imagine it was dinner time. the restaurant most likely was full. you heard some of the workers in there, very concerned about their coworkers, trying to make sure they're okay. so people are seeing these pictures. it's a tragic situation. we're working to confirm more information about what happened about injuries and the possibility that people may have died in this. we're working to confirm that to figure out if that's going on. so we're working our sources on the scene trying to figure out. once again, you're looking at the sweet tomatoes restauran
