someone wathe shore near cesar chavez park saw an empty canoe just 5:30 saturday night.he coast guard went out. the body of a man was found a short time later. authorities believe the canoe overturned. the man was the only person inside. it is still not clear why that canoe capsized. >>> a 51-year-old fremont man died while scuba diving in sonoma county. he was diving in an area with a friend when he lost consciousness in the water. a rescue team pulled the man to the surface and the sonoma county sheriff's helicopter airlifted him to shore. he was pronounced dead a short time later. the man's name is not being released until his family is notified. >>> the mayor of oroville is trying to reassure residents over the safety of the oroville damn. a large hole was discovered in the spillway last year, forcing evacuations amid fears of flooding. the city says the agency failed to maintain the dam for decades and the cost to repair it soared to $870 million, three times the original estimate. small cracks have also appeared. the mayor says there is nothing to worry about. >> o
