abc's nick watt with the latest from los angeles. >> reporter: good evening. most of what we are hearing is coming from the marin county sheriff's department. they say at 11:55 this morning they received a call from somebody in the house that there was a male, unconscious and not breathing. emergency personnel was there within five minutes. two minutes later at two minutes past 12:00, robin williams was pronounced dead in that home north of san francisco that she shared with his wife. now, the sheriff's department is saying it is suspected suicide due to asphyxia. they will not say anymore. forensic examinations will take place tomorrow, toxicology tests, but at the moment this is being treated as a suspected suicide. his agent said williams had been suffering from severe depression and checked himself into a rehab lately. he has had long battles with depression and alcoholism. this is well known, but still the death of this man, the tighten of comedy and drama in this country, his death has come as a great shock to everybody, to his family, to his wife who ha
