waukee students could soon know where they may be attending school next year... a committee will deliver a boundary proposal to the board of education tonight. the plan would affect nearly 600 students.... according to the "des moines register." it's an effort to reduce overcrowding in many of the district's elementary schools. the board will vote on the plan next month. we've lucked out with warmer temperatures this season but colder weather is on its way. polk county housing services leaders say people should undergo a complete energy audit in order to have the most efficient heating system this season. the process includes adding insulation to attics, walls, and floors...to reduce the amount of heat lost through these areas. you should also do a safety check on all heating systems and stoves to make sure they are not putting off too much carbon monoxide. polk county officials say there are also a few, simple things people can do on their own to save money when reaching for the thermostat.
