coming up on wavy news 10 - a deadly medical mystery in wisconsin. it's already killed 18 people. hear what'be being done to stop it. then at five-thirty - it's been six months since two journalists were shot and killed in our state. now - the lone survivor of that attack is returning to work just in time to help milestone. doctors in wisconsin are investigating an unusual outbreak of a rare bacterial infection suspected in the deaths of 18 people. so far 44 people have been infected -- mostly those over age 65. all of the patients have had other serious underlying health conditions. it's caused by a bacteria called "elizabeth kingia" -- named after a scientist who discovered are usually found in healthcare settings. but officials don't have any clear links yet between patients. :29-:38 (s/ dr. nasia safdar, md, phd - university of wisconsin) "this is not we would routinely draw blood cultures if somebody has fever in the hospital, you know, and elizabethkingia would show up in that." symptoms include fever, chills, and shortness of breath. the bacteria are resistant to many drugs

thanks for joining us on wavy news ten at 7am on fox 43. i'm don roberts. our crew here at wavy saw part of the chase when about seven police cars followed a motorcycle right in portsmouth. rico bush has been gathering more details on this breaking news. he's live in chesapeake. rico, what can you tell us? don, at the top of the hour, more details are coming in about the high-speed chase. lasted about seven before officers called off the according to portsmouth police, officers in chesapeake contacted them to assist them in the high-speed chase on george washington highway just before 12-30. police confirm to us the chase ended in portsmouth, when officers lost the suspect. chesapeake dispatch could not tell us where the chase started nor where it ended. throughout the morning, we'll continue to check in with police to find out why officers began chasing the suspect and who they're looking for. in the meantime, i'll be posting new updates on this chase to twitter and wavy dot com as soon as we learn them. rico bush, 10 on your side. lets turn now to the wea
