at glen park and you could see example of what those might look like for wayfinding. next 5ypp is for the ferry category. site-specific category for the downtown ferry terminal. some have a 5ypp amendment, it's cleaning up, if you will, fiscal year '18-'19. five years ago the agencies had an idea of what they might do in this fiscal year but sometimes it's not exactly what they are going to do this fiscal year. so we are taking this opportunity to make sure the program of projects for this fiscal year, year 5 of 2018-2019 reflects what we expect to come in and request allocations for the next five-year period. agencies aren't going to be requesting funds and then adding a couple of projects for state of good repair projects. you will see this reflected in other categories as well. some of these amendments set up projects for the next five-year period. so for the b.a.r.t. facilities category, also site-specific, facilities that are on the b.a.r.t. line. so the districts that are reflected for receiving these projects are b.a.r.t. station or b.a.r.t. line area projects.

we also installed wayfinding improvements and reminded drivers to slow down through speed limit signs and street paint that guide vehicles to the 280 onramp all of which aim to address the most prevalent collision types, turning vehicles, failing to yield or non protected and non dedicated pedestrian crossings. despite these changes a person walking or biking gets hit by a car on 6th street every 16 days. and with 40% ending in severe injuries or fatalities it's clear more work is needed on 6th street. two goals, improve safety and create a safe and inviting public space for all street users and community members of 6th street. the major elements are between market and howard. this is the span where the crashes are most concentrated, making up 32 out of 41 collisions. the key elements of this project are first, removing a southbound lane to calm traffic and accommodate wider sidewalks. second, upgrading all intersections between market to howard and also at fulsome and harrison, which include installing new traffic signals that include accessibility and signal timing upgrades, upgrade

icon to indicate where specific historic related controls are so that people can easily have a wayfinding experience through the document to understand which controls relate to this reinforcing those historic characters. >> you can use that microphone. [laughter] then you don't have to move back and forth. it is a little short there. >> just an example, in our paving and materials materials, we highlight the use of paving that reveals industrial elements and utilitarian material so the streetscape really has a sense of an industrial path -- passed. in our open space design and planning -- planting, we highlight the importance of the stock and make sure there's nothing in the stack -- in the landscape that competes with that and even highlights it juxtaposes the planting and the scape against industrial character of the building. looking at the streets with character, the theme it has really been about greening and that has been something you see throughout dogpatch. greening these industrial spaces and trying to be responsive to that with added green elements on the streetscape. through m

if it's in terms of the way the laws were written, were sorted from years ago that don't match wayfinding happens now, make sure we break down those barriers. i feel pretty strongly that this is this is a bipartisan area and to think also darpa as well. i think he will continue to be, and obviously the focus of i hope arpa-e continues to be on technologies that will benefit the nation as a whole and innovation that really can't happen in the private sector because it's just not commercially viable. >> nicole, from your standpoint at ameresco talk but about public-private partnerships and you highlighted that's what made this parris island project so successful, what more would you like to see? is it just an example something that a successful that could be scaled up, or there are little calibration or adjustments that could be made to enhance existing programs? >> it's a well-established program which is great, a lot of good examples that use this type of contract vehicle or financing structure. so continued support from congressional level is always a great driver to get all these projec
