wayne used his speech to send a message.his was an opportunity for wayne and the nra to set up for this white house that there will be a strong pushback on big changes even incremental changes to gun policy in the u.s. the president has been trying to move in a way that might surprise some of his critics talking about potential changes where you're saying he wants to work on background checks, wants to work on the age requirements related to firearms and mental health issues. some of that is not completely out of step with the nra but the age issue is and that is in part because of the constitutional nature of the second amendment and not wanting to put a time limit defined by age. so that's going to be a fert ilarea for political fight. the president's tweeting today about his suggestion that is shared by wayne and others that some teachers should be armed, those who are perhaps with military background or trained in some way to be a line of first defense at schools. there's a lot of debate over whether that is a sound idea
