wayne hayes is with us live now. what is the latest now that it is morning there? >> reporter: yes. we're just over 12 hours now after that huge blast cursed in the shrine just behind me at the intersection, which is really one of the hearts of this city. it's one of the focal points for locals and tourists to come to go shopping and visit the shrine itself. there are many hotels in the area. in fact, one very nice five-star hotel right beside the shrine. this morning, tuesday morning we have seen a lot of police activity here, a lot of military here as well. the police just poured over the scene still. they're going through every piece of debris trying to find more clues using the light of the day. obviously, it was dark when the blast occurred. now they have daylight and looking again at all the debris, looking in the bushes in the middle of the road trying to piece together exactly what did occur at around 7:00 on monday evening when that large bomb occurred. >> wayne, as we mentioned, these types of bombings have become common since the military seized control of the country las

in bangkok, we join our correspondent, wayne haye. are police saying this is a person of interest or that they rock ken that is their guy? >> the initial comment came from the prime minister earlier on tuesday, sake that the person in that video footage seen leaving behind a bag moments before that blast could be a suspect. now we've heard from a police spokesman who has gone a step further saying that he is no longer simply a person of interest, that is the bomber. we've seen comments from a government spokesman not going quite as far as the police are, but the statement from police show they believe this is the man who is responsible for the explosion. >> tell us what it is like today, the day after. i school security has been stepped up and that people are pretty much on edge there. >> well, yeah, a strange feeling, certainly people on edge as night has fallen now. we've just gone 25 hours since that blast occurred at the shrine. there's definitely a dealing in the area, it is very quiet this evening. there certainly was a lot of p

. >> wayne haye reporting, thank you. >> all the bodies from a plane that crashed on sunday were found. the plane went down in bad weather in papua. >> they found the plane totally destroyed, most of it burns, because it crashed against the mountain and they found 54 bodies, he many of them in very bad shape. the rescue workers are now trying to lift the bodies to a different area one by one by helicopter which will be quite a lagging task and something that needs to be noted is that nine passengers of the 54 that were onboard were actually not on the passenger manifest. that's something also that happens a lot in indonesia, where the manifests can change at the last minute, so it's not clear who were actually onboard. the cause of the crash is still not known. there is a lot of speculation of it might have been very bad weather. the weather in papua is very bad. the international aviation organization has put out a very damaging report about indonesia safety, saying that it lacked on most points and especially on the organization of their staff to actually keep up with this very boomi

wayne haye is live in bangkok. do police say who his accomplices may be? >> the thai police chief said that it simply wouldn't have been possible, in his opinion for a single person, a single man seen that in security camera footage to have carried out an attack of such a large scale by himself, and therefore as you say, they believe that he was part of a network, had support and the comment from the police chief was he believed those other people who have helped out, helped carry out this attack are thai. we are not sure exactly what has led him to say that, to draw that conclusion. they are also now saying that as well as the security camera foot acknowledge that you have seen, that many times, the man with the yellow shirt leaving the shrine moments before the blast, they are now looking at two our suspects in that footage who they want to hear from. >> any word on where the main suspect is from? there are reports that point to another connection. >> we know now that there is an arrest warrant out for that man seen in that cctv footage. they don't have
