. >> let's see what's going on weatherwise. i heard the word rain recently. >> towards the end of the seven-day forecast there's a better chance for that. we don't have any rain or fog getting in the way of the view right now. 53 degrees right now in san jose. not much wind, but still high pressure sitting on top of the bay area. that's the reason why we have gone throughout the month without any measurable rainfall. and with the region of high pressure on top of us it tends to trap the haze in the valley. light wind still expected tomorrow. another spare the air day tomorrow. the worst of that smoke pollution will be in the north bay and the santa clara valley. as you can see here, during today we had some moisture out there. we had some mid level clouds and some haze off towards the west. as we take a closer look off towards the south, that's where a lot of the moisture of this system happens to be. right now, mid level clouds over the bay area tonight. a slight chance of a few showers up towards sonoma county this evening. a

let's talk with what's happening weatherwise here. we're dealing with very strong winds and that really is the headline today. we have those snow squalls, too. those temperatures are ok. i mean, it's you know, in the 30's in most spots. somewhere like wintergreen where it's 15 degrees at the resort right now. wind gusts at 49 miles an hour. that's bitterly cold. the rest of the snow dealing with strong wind gusts over 40 miles an hour in frederick and martinsburg and manassas 42-mile-an-hour gust. that's why the wind advisory that was posted this morning will be in effect until midnight tonight. so far, so good because we're in the 30's. later tonight, temperatures will fall for the 20's and into the teens and then when you add up the strong winds, it will be very, very uncomfortable late tonight. you don't want to be outside too long unprotected. trust me. let's talk about what's coming. everything changes super bowl sunday, a storm system will approach from the west. this direction means we'll have mixed precipitation, the big snows

as far as what's happening weatherwise, area of high pressure that's built in today chased away some of the cloudiness but down to the south, there's more clouds. another disturbance building up and this is going to bypass us totally but there's a cold front that's going to associate with this. so once all this moves through tomorrow and tomorrow night, temperatures will get colder. so with this action missing the rain to the south and missing most of the clouds i think tomorrow will be a pleasant day. partly cloudy. it will be breezy because of the sun approaching but we'll hit the mid 40's and turn colder tomorrow night as skies clear out. saturday looks gorgeous. futurecast, there's the time stamp. 10:00 a.m. lots of sunshine. there's the cold front. it will wash out for us. don't have any weather worries. partly cloudy and breezy. saturday will be bright and sunny. we get into sunday and another cold front will approach. along with that another area of low pressure. storm center will develop. that will give us a good chance of scattered showers developing sunday afternoon and sun

weatherwise it could be a record setting day in some parts of the bay area. here is lisa argen with a first look it at the forecast. >> chris, we could see 72 in oakland today that could be a record. still some fog settling into our east bay valleys. a big concern all weekend long because with the mild temperatures folks will want to check out the waves and the beaches. a half mile visibility in fair field. look at concord at just a quarter mile, three miles in napa with a mine and three-quarters in petaluma. breezy winds on top of mt. tamm. 25 to 35-mile-an-hour winds. mix up some of the atmosphere in the higher elevations but not at the lower elevations. that's where we're looking at the smog and the dirty air for another spare the air day today. look for 67 downtown . 70 in san jose. and in between we'll see the warmest numbers in the mid-70s at the coast. the cooler numbers out by the delta. look at the warmth tomorrow. >>> lisa, thank you. san jose police are looking for the driver who hit and killed a woman and then took off. at around 6:15 last night p
