a new study looked at the use of wegovy which has a drug that is approved for weight loss and obesity specifically a heart failure with observed ejection fraction. it often occurs in people with obesity. in this trial they looked at this group of folks and gave them this truck and compared it with a placebo over the course of the year. what they found is it led to 13% of weight loss, but also improvement of symptoms of heart failure, things like shortness of breath, fatigue, trouble with exserk and swelling, improved exercise function and quality of life. doctors i spoke with were very excited about this data saying it's the biggest benefit they've ever seen on that symptom score. this really adds to the amount of evidence suggesting that this kind of medicine really can have benefits beyond diabetes and weight loss. with this trial. also a recent trial showing that wegovy can reduce the riffing of a heart attack, stroke, and death by 20% with people with cardiovascular disease who are overweight and have obesity. these are creating a lot of excitement in the medical world. there are
