good evening, i'm vanessa welch. >> chief meteorologist kevin lemanowicz joins us now >> we're tracking the heavy rain coming on through. the snow has come to massachusetts but has edged and will be replaced by rain. heavy rain really intense for the northshore in particular right now, just to the northwest of beverly and right on route 1, there's some red there. that's the heaviest rain you're gonna find on doppler radar. but there's been some slightly heavier still out on cape cod. this area, as well. look at the downpours here along 28 and quincy and milton. dennis port over through dennis seeing some heavy rain too and this is yet to come. all of this pushing northward toward us, seeing a lot of lightning strikes, can see them in here coming our way and we'll have to track that over the next several hours. the snow has moved off to the north but not before producing over 6-inches in massachusetts out in the berkshires. an update on the weekend forecast coming up. >>> there is a heavy police presence at the maryanne hotel in hampton beach, new hampshire. seacoast online is reporting
