federal prosecutors offered the deal to "edgar welch" back in january. welch's lawyers will present their decision at a hearing later this morning. police say welch opened fire at "comet ping pong" after reading fake it was a front for a child sex trafficking ring. the terms of the plea deal have not been released. right now... police are trying to figure out if two gun store burglaries are connected. the most recent theft took place saturday when thieves stole 35 weapons from "50 west armory" in chantilly. three days earlier, thieves stole 30 guns from "united gun" in rockville. both burglaries appeared highly choreographed, taking less than two minutes each. no arrests at this time. a teacher at one of d-c's best known private schools has been charged with sexually abusing a student. georgetown day school teacher mark allen-gifford was arrested friday. he is accused of kissing and inappropriately touching a 14-year-old female student. the incident happened earlier this year, not on school grounds. the school says allen-gifford has been placed on leave.
