of communism and high places became embroiled in a battle with army officials represented by joseph welch. the hearings, which arose from claims of subversion and army camp led to the eclipse of senator mccarthy's career and to the resignation of robert kennedy from the committee after six-month service. kennedy had been feuding with the chief counsel. he was to return to the committee as counsel for the democrats and ultimately succeeded with chief counsel. in 1957, kennedy stepped into a role as a tough investigator. he began investigation into the teamsters union. he found a major adversary. their exchanges were abrasive. >> to find out whether these locals had members or whether they were gangster run. what did you do then esther harper? kennedy, but it was not my responsibility to do anything and the general president was joined by martin lacy. >> half a charge that kennedy was conducting a vendetta against him. he used the word ruthless against him. he used the word himself as a joke. he was described as a lightning rod during the successful 1960 presidential campaign of his other j

jason: here is david welch with more. >> we have a rapidly growing brand. small cars and make seven passenger npb's which is like a minivan over there. and it has grown 10 x since 2013. it is up to about one million units per year. that is the good news. the bad news is buick has kind of stalled out. and that is really their big brand. so has chevrolet. the brands that are growing our one brand and our cadillac on the top of the market, getting nice growth. in china right now, that center part of the market where buick competes against brands like volkswagen and others, there is still growth there. this is china after all, but most of the growth that you will see next year will come on the lower end and higher end. so the fact that that gm has a domestic brand, a domestic chinese brand, that is growing in the middle of the country, where there is a new middle class growing up, it is a good place for gm to be, and the brand itself is getting better prices and putting out more expensive vehicles. so, this is a nice story for gm. it is just that these are not
