welcome to the city. businesstime takes a business lead. welcome to the city. i know you'll get all you need. welcome to the city today. >> hi. i am sumer shields. i am here as a congressional candidate but also a representative of the political action committee. i wanted to give you something to take with you. there are a couple of different things here. i hear the demands and the board of supervisors. a resolution calling on the federal government to put in place banking regulations, glass seigel. there will not be a recovery for the budget crisis without federal regulations separating investment from commercial banks. there is not going to be -- there is not going to be any solution right now for the economic crisis on the united states. san francisco has a budget crisis and you have california, they are bankrupt. the country of the united states is bankrupt. if you cannot have a federal resolution to this crisis, this is to free up the kind of credit that you need. we will not have the united states if we do not go with the kinds of banking regulations. we h

welcome to city hall.been laughing for the last 15, 20 minutes because we're joking with the supervisors and of course supervisor campos had to ask me, what are you wearing for carnaval? and of course i said, well, i'll begin with the orange tie. is there anything else i have to wear? with that fantastic performance just now, with trash mashup, i was thinking, supervisor, you know, i've been thinking, i've got to have a replacement for that one-hour question-answer period at the board. i think i've got a better idea now what to do with that hour. instead of question and answer i'm going to invite trash mashup to cover me for those question-answers. all right. that was a wonderful performance. thank you very much. and also want to shout out to, as elena alluded, all of these wonderful cultural programs that we have, through funding for the grants for the arts. but the beauty of them and the why they are successful is because so many community volunteers come out and they make it work and they make it happen

you have an international city that welcomes terrorism. it has conventions of people that come here and they love the city. they love the restrooms, entertainment, the venues we have created. they also love going to the small neighborhood corridors with wonderful businesses. i was just at the bazaar cafe. it has great food. you feel comfortable. people like that. that is why they move to the city. we have had investments in education that made our city successful. i never want a city that abandons its education system again. we submit millions of dollars to our school district. we have seen other cities fail in that mission. they thought the school district was a state system and had nothing to do it. this city does it differently. that makes our city successful in different ways. i want our son to be safe, solvent, and successful -- ouone -- i want our city to be safe, solvent, and successful. i suggest to you that we have a new level of conversation at city hall. it is welcoming of a good business climate. weak balance that with the servi
