my name is wendy bardsly and i have been in the neighborhood for just about 30 years. i'm also honored to be a member of the council. i have seen -- i am a recent member, maybe two years in. but over the years, i have seen nobody do as much for the safety of this neighborhood as calle 24th and that needs to be called out with all of these safety concerns. we did have a process of open meetings that were publicized by consultants to the neighborhood. and we invited everybody and anybody in the neighborhood to come. and during that process, i was really, really struck by one observation over and over again: how important the living culture of this neighborhood was. i went to some of the first gatherings of artists during one of these open meetings, and these are artists by all color, all nationalities, very inclusive and they talked about how the culture of calle 24th lives in casa lukas and lives in all the little stores and family-owned and family-run businesses that we are so lucky to have, that people from all over the world visit us to just feel what that sense of c
