we see exactly where we agreed and where we didn't agree. >> here is my last question before we turn to you. and you underscored this in your opening remarks. the contrast between what i will call the objective indicators in the subjective indicators is startling across the board. when you look at numbers, things are going up. when you look at how people -- people feel down a whole range of things. the mental health section was shocking. satisfaction in virtually everything was extremely low. what is going on? >> i will take a crack at it. when i looked at the report, it takes me back to president jimmy carter's crisis of confidence speech in the late 1970's. he talked about americans' general pessimism related to the energy crisis and to a whole set of domestic economic indicators. high unemployment, high inflation the prime interest rate was like 21%. he really fingered those spiritual dimensions of what was happening to the american public. and then international crises abroad largely in the middle east. but then i think back kind of there now, there is a spiritual crisis that is

and we lead because we don't accept the status quo. we keep pushing forward. last year, we were able to get an additional 60,000 massachusetts people affordable healthcare coverage. because of the steps we took, people in massachusetts have access to breast cancer screenings, midwives, doulas, birthing centers, recovery coaches and so much more, because insurance is now going to cover it. i also know many of you have medicines you need to take for diabetes, asthma and heart conditions. but you go to the pharmacy totally stressed out because you don't know if you can afford it. we have taken steps to take that stress away from people. last week, i signed a law that says you're not going to pay more than $25 a month for that insulin, that inhaler, or whatever else it is you need. i think that is very important. i think the legislature for their work to get that build on. -- that bill done.
