moore: 2028, we will have the bridge done. david: why is it important to maryland and baltimore to have the key bridge? gov. moore: the port of baltimore really is america's gateway. it's one of the most important not just maritime facilities but port entries in the country. two thirds of the country get goods from the port of baltimore as the main entry point. but there are only three main arteries to the port of baltimore. the harbor tunnel. you have the baltimore tunnel. and you have the key bridge. the problem is all hazmat materials -- oil refineries, etc. -- they cannot take tunnels legally, they can only take the bridge. this is having a distinct impact not only on transit and transportation but on goods and commerce able to move. david: as we talk there have been fires in california. do you have advice for your fellow democratic governor gavin newsom about how to handle crises like these? gov. moore: it's heartbreaking what's going on in california. i reached out to gavin as soon as i heard about what happened and offer

one is with governor wes moore. at football and politics have in common, really through the vein of sometimes democrats. and i obviously worked in democratic politics for more than 20 years. i believe in a lot of the policies, but sometimes feel like they need to be the kid who's sitting in the front of the class to try to get an a, and not speaking in language that is in english and accessible. we talked a bit about that. governor moore and i did. we also talked about reclaiming patriotism. in his view, he's a veteran. it's been bastardized, as he called it. how do democrats do that? and i talked with jack schlossberg, who's of course the grandson of jfk. so he's known for that, but he's also been messing with people online on a range of social media platforms. i mean, he just removed himself. i talked to him this morning. he's okay. although when it's jack, you never know when he seems normal. that's always a flag. but his point is that democrats need to be edgier, need to take more risks online. and he's been play

people like governor wes moore. that was possible because of the foundation that we laid and we did it together. i remember back in 2006, again i was the ev for the house democrat caucus, when, when the dccc chair and the g fcc chair were screaming at the dnc chair howard dean at the time about writing the check. you all remember that. there was a $5 million check and they were asking the dnc to write the check in order to support their efforts. now howard dean was focused on the 50 state strategy folks, i'm happy to say that yes, we did the 50 state strategy on steroids because there's never been a dnc that has contributed more money and resources to supporting the state party. all 50 states and our territories and are democrats abroad. [applause] but in addition to making that historic investment in our state party, we wrote a big damn check. we actually wrote $52 million to support the dccc and the dscc over these four years and nobody had to scream at me to do it. we broke down silos and our organizations work to
