now to the latest weather developments we're following along the west coast. high surf is battering parts of southern california. this video from ventura shows the large waves pummeling coastal areas and flooding streets. aerial shots of the ventura pier also show some of the wooden posts have broken loose.. forcing it to close over safety concerns. the big waves are expected to continue in the region through tomorrow.
