we will continue to see cooler weather on the way, again west coast of the united states where we'll see slightly cooler weather wednesday, big cooldown on the way as that area of high pressure builds across the central united states departs from the west coast. again, big changes on the way over the next 36 to 72 hours. up until then it's going to be pretty hot. we're still feeling the heat now across the bay area. it's the reason that we have heat advisories in effect, especially for our inland east bay communities and down into the south bay. it remains in effect through 8:00 p.m. tonight and will again be reissued tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. as that heat is pretty aggressive and it may lead to heat-related illness. that's something we'll keep a very close eye on. look how deep this color red is across the bay area. compared to yesterday, our temperatures are significantly warmer. look at the temperature change over just 24 hours, 15 degrees warmer in redwood city, 12 degrees warmer in los gatos. even our coastal communities are feeling at least 5 degrees warmer, san fra

they say if you want to move to the west coast, they will charge them double. s on the east coast will charge double over to move to the west coast. are you seeing similar things how does that impact the retailers to bring inventory in? >> the ship lines have put substantial surcharges headed to the east coast. we have seen situation where is ship lines have stopped taking inbound freight for export that goes through these ports. we are seeing, at least, the large ship lines go ahead and prepare for significant slowdowns or stoppages. that is impacting supply chains. this is -- strikes are not unconnected events or labor issues are not unexpected events. it continues to be impacted by the threat of strikes. there's a lot of noise heading into the strikes. shippers are prepared to do that. one thing is the west coast ports have a new contract they were able to get about two years ago. they are performing. supply chain managers have options. this is not a black swan event that is expected. they have been taking preparations. what is happening is the unexpected and

we saw storm surges in many parts of the west coast of florida that exceeded what we saw in hurricane idalia, which took a similar track. it was similar strength, maybe a little weaker. but you are seeing significantly more storm surge in places like tampa bay. we also saw major storm courage in the big bend region. we did report there was a traffic fatality last night. we also this morning can report that there's been more fatality reported in dixie county due to a tree falling on the home during the storm. overnight as soon as the storm, as soon as it was safe to do, and even in many cases probably wasn't perfectly safe to do, search and rescue operations were conducted to help people that were in distress and transport them to safety. these missions continue, but we have had thousands of missions successfully completed in the overnight hours throughout the state. this is our local first responders, this is local in conjunction with state assets, and state assets directly going in and effectuating rescues. that's the national guard, that's florida fish and wildlife. that's all the a
