west to east. still sunshine around and dry in the west later on into the afternoon. we've got this line of rain that, as it pushes into eastern england, becomes quite heavy for east yorkshire down towards kent. there could be some localised surface water flooding for a time with 30—40 millimetres of rain, some thunderstorms mixed in as well. also some heavy showers for the far north—east of scotland, particularly for 0rkney. elsewhere, sunshine developing, lifting temperatures to between about 15—20 celsius so not as warm as recent days but not bad for this time of year. into the evening hours, sticking with this area of cloud and rain across eastern england, so a soggy night for some. but away from the far east of england, most other places dry with clear spells and it will be a cooler, fresher night than we've seen recently, with temperatures down into mid single figures for some of us to start off your monday morning. monday is still quite dry and settled. the first half of this new week in head in fact looking quite dry. things change from around mid week onwards so we'll start to see low pressure bringing us wetter, windier conditions later in the week ahead. so eventually things turning a little bit more autumnal, but as we start off monday we've got low pressure well to the north of the uk, higher pressure to the south and south—west lingering for a time, quite a weak affair, on monday. still a few showers for east anglia, the southeast, lincolnshire perhaps as well. more cloud working in from the north—west later on in the day as well but in between most places having some sunshine around, and temperatures roundabout 15—21 degrees during the day on monday. then clear spells and a cooler, fresher night than we've seen into tuesday, early mist and fog patches are likely once again. they should slowly clear away. light winds in most places but the winds picking up in the north—west ahead of the next front trying to move its way in, but not a bad day on tuesday with highs around 16—21 degrees. but it's from wednesday and on into thursday we see this change, so weather fronts starting to move in from the north—west and make their way across the uk, and a north westerly breeze left behind on thursday after those weather fronts pass through. so still some unsettled weather on the cards through the second half of the wee
