let's go to kelly o'donnell who's with the president there in west palm beach. what can you tell us? >> reporter: well, we're making some inferences about what the president is doing and his contacts with north korea because it's a holiday weekend and frankly the white house has not been commenting on what has happened with respect to north korea and its founders day celebration and the display of new munitions that were a big part of what was happening there in pyongyang. today the president is at his trump international golf club not far from where we are right now and is spending the weekend here at his mar-a-lago home. we do know that he's got some staff with him, but not the typical complement of the most senior white house staffers who have on many other trips traveled with him, so that's a little bit different this weekend. but as far as the policy, there is certainly a big development today with the vice president beginning a trip that will first take him to seoul, south korea, and be part of a 10 or 11-day trip depending on how you count the time zone c
