i have a store on west portal.ave been there about 30 years, and i am really strongly opposed to this current version of the west portal dbd. i can think about my opposition. one, i believe it was developed with insufficient community outreach. to the local merchants, property owners, and residents. basically, west portal had one landlord meeting and one merchant meeting, and it was presented to us almost like a fennel -- final document, not really with input to either of those cribs at that time. the othercbd's had five, six, or seven meetings. the others did multiple surveys of both merchants, people on the street, and lambeau boards. i believe the yearly costs are really disproportional compared to the size of others. the number of blocks and number of parcels, the valley is twice the size of west portal, and yet its budget is only 17% or 18% greater. i have asked numerous times, i came up with a magical figure of to wonder thousand dollars, but we have not been able to do it. i am in favor of this. i think it c

i am an owner, and one of the locations i have is on west portal. i have had that business for 12 years. i have also grown up there. my family and child a home is still there. growing up there, i have seen it go both ways. it is one of those avenues that is nice, quiet, charming, and sleepy, but it needs revitalization. in the past years, it has always been voluntary, and all too often, it was way too few people doing way too much for people who probably did not deserve it. this is a great unifier. everybody gets skin in the game. we have a functioning infrastructure. everyone is committed. i feel that wants everybody starts to pay into the system, they tend to be more committed, and they tend to be more involved, which i look wholeheartedly forward to. i am currently president of the west portal avenue association, and once again, it is way too few people doing way too much. i support this. there are some that had objections to them. i have looked at some of the videos of some of the other conflicts. west portal is not as diverse lead discrepant s

glen park has been fortunate is even more than west portal in that it survived architecturally most of the '60s when there are a few areas where things were torn down and single level surface level parking was provided. but not many. that's good and i think you have the opportunity and it would add to it and also keep the character, which is important. i understand the concerns about the creek. it's probably not year round door very little flow during the off months -- year round or very little flow during of months. but unless you had a source like a lake where you could control the flow and keep it coming at a regular pace, you will end up with stagnation and something that's not very attractive many months of the year. that is something we have to think about. rerouting san jose avenue and making the traffic coming is very important. what is important is to provide a station for people getting off the j line at glen park that is welcoming. so people will be able to get in and out or wait for the train with some shelter and not be caught in a sometimes when the area with cars whizzin

last wednesday, and evening rush hour, we lost west portal that directs trains out to the l, forward to the k and m. the bottleneck in the subway created a considerable delay. the ripple effect of that made for a difficult rush-hour last wednesday. we had issues with the california cable car, the comptroller that regulates the speed was presenting some issues. none that we felt posed a real safety hazard, but as a precaution, we took the cable car line down over the weekend. we were able to get it back up and running, having made the adjustment to make sure that the ride was smooth. it basically put folks on buses instead of cable cars over the weekend. and yesterday, there were delays in the morning and the afternoon rush hours. no specific trend, just a variety of issues. but again, the bottle back doesn't take much to trigger problems throughout the system. all of these things are generally in areas where we have plans for improvement, particularly in terms of the cars and we will continue to make those improvements and to minimize delays. on a good note, we did have a very big cr

this was from west portal to downtown. i met a staff member who was taking the money with me in the wrong direction -- taken muni with me in the wrong direction so she could get into a car. she got on and rode down to powell and was able to squeeze onto a car going the other way, because she wanted to go west. right now, i see you are running buses to try to mitigate some of the crowding there. that may be a stopgap solution, but it is part of the problem. you are putting more surface buses that are getting in the way on the surface, rather than digging another board and running a second tunnel to get out to the sunset district, which i believe is our most heavily traveled line. also, the area between market street and the tunnel on dubose is a huge problem. it takes forever to get those couple of blocks. where funding is available, that has to go underground and connect that, so it is a seamless transition, as it is when you go west to twin peaks. transit has to be in its own right of way. bart is an example of a system p
