we force a surface lane to west portal and then they transfer to a bus. when we interviewed the early morning customers, many whom are going to jobs and making connections that without reliable transit they wouldn't be able to get where they needed to go, about a quarter said they were transferring two times just to access our early-morning service. additionally, we're putting extra rail miles on the system when we don't need it. the bus loads -- the customer loads are more appropriate for a bus at that hour. so what we'll be doing, we'll be pulling out the trains a little bit later to match when the subway open and deriving direct connections on our bus system. this is something we will do extensive customer information campaigns so those early morning customers know what to expect. they'll be told, you don't have to get off this and this will take you down to make your destination. this reduces the number of vehiclevehicles on tonsend. we've been hearing feedback, the 9r, which is something that has had positive feedback, for example, in visitation vall

you will see concerts in west portal, the bayview. every district, if you will, will have a concert taking place. if i could give you a couple of my favorites relative to the community and troops at-large, we have an honor our fallen concert at the sf jazz center on wednesday evening of fleet week. that is october 9th. it is a free concert. we invite the community to come out. every year the united states mari--marine corps band comes o. we would like to show support for that tribute concert. we are going to bring a 40 piece marine corps band to city hall on thursday, the 11th, for a half hour lunch concert. when you feel the walls shaking here, you know what is happening. it is not the airshow, just the band. we are doing things like that. also this year on pier 30-32 where the flagship is tied up, on friday, october 11th, we are going to do a welcome hero's concert at the pier. i can't tell you elaine your staff is fabulous to get this organized. there will be a food truck jamboree, a lot of interactive displays and concerts. the fr
