jessica reyes live in west roxbury this morning. jess, give us a sense of what is going on right now. >> well, gene, there is all happening on the property in west roxbury. see a guy with his hands chain today the fence. need it and cancelled contract. he is one of three people who are going to be chaining themselves to this very same fence this morning. now, this is all in response to the west roxbury lateral pipeline which would bring naacp boston. the protesters here say they are locking themselves to property because -- in their words, spectra is locking news climate construction. the goal is to delay construction on the pipeline as long as they possibly can. this is not the first time just last month, al gore's daughter was arrested at a similar demonstration against this same company. the of boston is currently in a lawsuit with spectra to stop the pipeline but the legal decision is not expected to be made until after construction will already be over. once again, you can see this guy here with his hands chained.this specra's

emily: a deadly crash is under investigation in west roxbury. a 44-year-old dedham man was killed last night when the truck he was driving crashed into a tree in the stony brook reservation. his passenger suffered serious injuries. randy: convicted murderer aaron hernandez will go to trial for a 2012 double-murder in boston's south end. hernandez is charged with the murders of daniel de abreu and safiro furtado. but the defense is already challenging key witnesses. they plan to file a motion to limit the testimony of those who identified hernandez as the killer. emily: new details about the 15-year-old boy shot several times in south boston. neighbors say the teen is a good kid known for his skills on the basketball court and for volunteering to feed other kids in the community. the victim was shot three times as he monday night. he suffered serious injuries. no arrests have been made. randy: a brockton teenager is recovering after he was shot. police say the 17-year-old was targeted last night, while sitting with friends on a bench at the chath

todd: a four alarm brush fire in west roxbury, still smoldering today. firefighters spent the night scene off eagle street. it is one of several brush fires that broke out this weekend because of dry conditions. it was the most intense of the fires. mica, obviously, dealing with some very dry conditions and it's a matter of time. mike: yeah, you have to be careful about any kind of open flame. we are going to get a little relief. we are going to get some rain. today, nothing but sunshine. skies are clear. starting to see a line of showers and thunderstorms. i have turned the lightning scan on and i have not seen lightning yet you're it but i think there could be a rumble of thunder through the overnight hours. it's going to take a little while to get here. as far as boston is concerned, newscenter 5 -- that is when the cloud cover moves in. you see the line marches and it continues to push into the eastern part of the state. if you are an early riser, your morning commute on the wet side. the tropics are getting active as well. all of that is coming up.
