stories this morning. a teenager was shot to death while shoveling snow on the near west side. the body of 17-year-old ronald hayes was discovered yesterday afternoon by his mother, on a sidewalk near his home in the 13- hundred block of west hastings. he'd been shot in the head. hayes was a senior at banner academy west high school. there's no word yet on who shot him, or why. two men were killed when a car went off the highway and hit a light pole. it happened on i-90, at barrington road, yesterday morning. a third person in the car was slightly injured. the car wound up on the left shoulder of the eastbound lanes. the cause of the crash is under investigation. while emergency crews were there, another car hit two state police squad cars. that driver suffered minor injuries, but no one else was hurt. people in downers grove got a chance to hear most of the republicans who want to be governor. the indian american republican organization sponsored a candidates forum. bruce rauner didn't attend. but state treasurer dan rutherford and senators kirk dillard and bill brady did. for
