we're watching the cold front off to the west of abilene, stretching rain out of central texas into ft. worth, into oklahoma, too. it will be rough first part of of the day around dallas and ft. worth. heavy showers, even thunderstorms, you watch the lightning popping up around kansas city live. more of that south of that region toward st. louis. the rain itself stretches into iowa, now headed into illinois, getting into wisconsin later today as well. minnesota, you can see the minneapolis radar picture picking up the very well. i haven't seen any lightning strikes here, little on the cool side, little drier, more stable. but the rain is going to wash out over central wisconsin and then pick up with intensity later this afternoon down to your south right around that cold frontal boundary. severe thunderstorms going to get them again today. it will be eastern texas into arkansas, northern louisiana, parts of oklahoma later this morning into the afternoon and then stretching to just south of st. louis by late today. that's the only thing we're watching. look at the freeze warnings posted

west and how they're getting hammered or getting ready to be hammered again. bob van dillen continues with the rough weather this time in the south in texas. >> the southeast gotmered yesterday but it's going to change and i'll show you why. lots of energy wrapped up around deep south texas and all pulling up towards the north and drawing a lot of moisture out of the gulf of mexico. the last three hours the rain blossoming around arkansas and southern missouri and showers and thunderstorms out there and in towards houston your drive for the time being and give yourself some time more showers and thunderstorms developing across the lower part of the gulf coast and stretching on in towards lower parts of louisiana, too. look at the rain around dallas and a whole shield is going to move back in towards georgia, alabama and mississippi. flash flood warnings and watches, pretty easy. look at the rain shield as it moves towards tennessee and piles it on quickly over the next 48 hours near north georgia, alabama and mississippi. little parts of little rock. this brand-new model for you, you could see a lot of rain across lower parts of arkansas at the time. look at t

texas northern sections of louisiana. you can see the shreveport radar picking up scattered showers over you now with thunderstorm acre action just to your westlong i-20. it's headed in your direction ahead of a cold front, currently right over dallas. look at san antonio, as the cold front arched back off towards the west, draws moisture in your direction. so, you have rain and thunderstorms over san antonio. all these lightning strikes realtime. so we're picking that up for you. and it's been active. no severe thunderstorm warnings right now. obviously some good news. i don't think it's a real severe weather day because it won't be unstable enough, but the heavy rain is out there. i am looking at this one bowed section near college station. lots of heavy wind when you start seeing that. so we'll see fast-moving winds very quickly, headed towards i-45. up farther, you can see light showers just off to your west, stretches out over northern arkansas. flash flood warnings and watches. the warns in red right there, that's what you're looking at. out towards the atlantic coastline, we have one weak area of low pressure off the coast of the carol
