we're watching the cold front off to the west of abilene, stretching rain out of central texas into ft. worth, into oklahoma, too. it will be rough first part of of the day around dallas and ft. worth. heavy showers, even thunderstorms, you watch the lightning popping up around kansas city live. more of that south of that region toward st. louis. the rain itself stretches into iowa, now headed into illinois, getting into wisconsin later today as well. minnesota, you can see the minneapolis radar picture picking up the very well. i haven't seen any lightning strikes here, little on the cool side, little drier, more stable. but the rain is going to wash out over central wisconsin and then pick up with intensity later this afternoon down to your south right around that cold frontal boundary. severe thunderstorms going to get them again today. it will be eastern texas into arkansas, northern louisiana, parts of oklahoma later this morning into the afternoon and then stretching to just south of st. louis by late today. that's the only thing we're watching. look at the freeze warnings posted
