the most significant representation of china here in hong kong if i can step back a bit and let jol zoom in we are in the western end of hong kong island and further down the road here about a kilometer down the road in that direction is the liaison office now that is where the demonstrators ended up many of the demonstrators they were going to be held at a place called one char which is a couple of kilometers from here but the size of the crowd was such that the police wisely perhaps allowed them to continue their march they went to the and did up at the liaison office they have now largely pulled back many of the demonstrators chose that to be the end of the march they have left but there are thousands more demonstrators still on the streets there here now they have built a barricade down there expecting that the police have already announced that they will be clearing the streets working from west to east so they will be coming from that direction they have been busy building up barricades and we've been watching in small groups if i can are scheduled to pan around here there are small groups who've been working moving around stores

the 1st rounds of tear gas have been fired at the western end of hong kong island this is down near china's liaison office which is in a high school so i want this is heavily barricaded this whole area simply because they're trying to protect china's milan office now as you mentioned the 1st rounds of tear gas have been fired there are a number of protesters there probably a smaller group than where we are where we are. up to 10000 people blocking this area it's called cause why it's probably the busiest retiled part of hong kong and the streets are blocked by twice and the stretch i could cite would be from causeway by all right through the western end which is where the tear gas is being fired most of this area the streets along this stretch have been blocked off and there are right place at the other end of this and there is no sign of police as yet but certainly the situation looks like it will be intensifying here as it already has at the western end we've got stores of all closed and the the protesters here have been very busy they've taken down all the fitz's where we're standing the
