maryland and virginia. but they're moving pretty much straight to the north. this whole area is just going to gradually move eastward so that's why our western counties have the best chance of seeing any showers tomorrow, whether it's morning or afternoon. here we go as we go through the night tonight. it's generally dry. we continue to see that southerly wind. that keeps the humidity up there. you can see a few showers, even tomorrow morning, again, generally in the western counties and some more developing in the afternoon. you don't really see much in new jersey and that strong sea breeze may help keep a lot of the moisture back to the west tomorrow. then on thursday, the atmosphere is getting a little more moist and you see more showers around, especially in delaware, and again, the western counties. by friday, things may be coming into the rest of the area. well, here we are, and there's danny. 3,000 miles away from us so it's not exactly an immediate threat. 40 mile an hour winds moving west at 12. it's not even moving that fast. there's really a tremendous difference in the computer models as to what this thing is going to do. not so much where it's go

maryland. looking at the areas that are stationary. especially just along north of the potomac river in western montgomery county.ther south down the river rain that is barely moving. a heavy downpour and we think it is going to rain itself out. that is a heavy storm in the northwest part of town. we will keep an eye on that. majority of the area is clear to partly cloudy. it's muggy. right now it is hot and humid. but after the sun set and the temperatures will drop in the 80's and the 70's tonight in most spot, muggy. feel humidity. heavy dew on the ground in the morning. the temperatures are up and down the east coast are hot. sitting under a big area of high pressure making it hot. also making it mostly sunny. get farther west when there are cloudiness and showers. look how cool, 71 in indianapolis. 75 in nashville. 84 in detroit. this is all due to to a flow of moisture that the high pressure center is here. and the backside, the moisture is coming up to the west. showers and the thunderstorms in time. some of that moisture will move eastward toward the area. tomorrow an, maybe a couple of thunderstorms. esp

harbor, cape may and around bethenny beach and lewis delaware and ocean city, maryland but it is drying out, at least western part of the sussex county but some places could get more than 2 inches of rain. it looks like cher point will get most of the heavy rain. >> but mercer county still under a flood advisory this morning. you can see the showers this afternoon will be more spotty, then what we had this morning, as this steady rain just about every where all morning and then that line of thunderstorms around 7:00 along i-95 corridor, 10:00 o'clock at the shore and these have potential for heavy downpours by end of the day to day. so high temperature is 82. warmer then yesterday. it is a warm front coming through and then 85 degrees for thomas the sunshines returns. few clouds here and there on wednesday but thursday looks excellent, lovely day, we will warm upstarting on friday. and then maybe as we see a few pop up showers or thunderstorms that could happen with the preseason game with the indianapolis colts. >> 1:00 o'clock kick off down there we have zach brown down there at day at the the ballpark. ho

maryland getting a lot of rain. lewis is about to get heavier rain because the western part of sussex, and moving east and jersey shore, getting rain as well as areas to the north. it is all part of the warm front heading to the area this morning. by the time all is said and done with this morning's rain and rain later in the day we could have an inch or so but some places can get closer to 2 inches of rain, just depend on if you are in a place to get a heavy downpour either today or later on in the day this flood advisory is in effect until 7:45 this morning for areas of rain we just showed you, moving through, with that warm front, so, that is the immediate, situation, and that will slow you down, not to mention everything else bob kelly will tell but the schuylkill expressway and that mess there. so what we have is the warm front and then a cold front later on this afternoon. once this whole mess is through, high pressure will build in, for the the rest of the workweek, and for most of the weekend as well, a that means decent weather coming up. it is heating up again as well as we look at the rest of the morning we

maryland. that one is pushing up toward smyrna and maybe middletown. little dam in some spots this morning. it looks like most of this will stay in the western suburbs. as we look outside we do have some cloudy skies, overhead, with some, breaks in the part of the region. the center city would be an area where we expect a mix of sun and clouds as we see that sun coming up in a little bit. it is already starting to make things rather bright. farther west more clouds we have this morning. 69 degrees is your current temperature. dew .6 two. wind light at 3 miles an hour. future tracker six showing you that those showers out to the west between now and noon and then, during the afternoon maybe a pop up, sprinkle or shower. but mostly just cloud and sun. kind of humid right up until 6:00 o'clock. later this evening most of our rain holding off to the west, which goodies for musikfest tonight in bethlehem. we will probably be dry up there as we take a look the at call across the region today we are looking mainly at a mix of cloud and sun, mild, a pop up shower cannot be ruled out. best chance in the western suburbs and a your high is 80 degrees at 3:00. h

maryland. low to mid 70s on the chesapeake bay. now the storm team 4 radar is showing some showers here, west virginia and up into western pennsylvania. the bulk of this is staying well to our west here for the morning hours. but eventually, leading edge of this, now coming into the southern shenandoah valley. that may make its way closer to winchester, perhaps martinsburg and warrenton. even into culpepper over the next few hours. but the greater chance is later this afternoon as temperatures climb. still mid 70s, partly sunny noontime. warm and humid, the mid 80s. not as hot as yesterday by 2:00 or 3:00. then those maybe passing showers and thundershowers coming into the metro area around 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. the sticky humidity with us now. it will only get more uncomfortable to oppressive on wednesday and thursday. the humidity will be increasing. temperatures though will not. we'll be in the upper 80s each afternoon. increasing chance though of an afternoon storm on wednesday. might get a morning shower but a greater chance of midday showers on thursday. and then finally a break from the humidity on friday. partly cloudy, mid 80s.

maryland. they were in a vehicle. >> found in that vehicle were a drone, which we believe was about to be used to deliver contraband into the western correctional institute. >> reporter: there was a gun found as well. investigators made the connection to an inmate at the facility who's also facing charges. >> this is a serious issue of safety, both for inmates and staff. >> reporter: jeff pittman is with the american federation of state, county and municipal employee, the union representing corrections workers. he says this is also about staffing levels at state prisons. >> when you have less eyesmnrñ these towers and around the perimeter of these facilities, it's less safe. >> reporter: this alleged drone conspiracy was busted up primarily through intelligence gathering among corrections and local law enforcement. it is an ongoing investigation and it is being taken very seriously. >> contraband fuels violence and we are committed to keeping it out for the safety of our staff and the inmates. >> reporter: and general public at large. now, corrections officials say there could be more arrests, both inside and outside the prison and

. >> reporter: maryland prison officials say two men plan to use this drone to fly a stockpile of drugs drugs, a gun and porn dvdd's right over the walls of the westernional institution in columbia and right into the hands of inmates. >> there's no directive to shoot them down. they didn't anticipate having this as problem. >> reporter: this happened saturday night at 6:00. acting on tip corrections officials spotted and searched a vehicle parked on route 220 near the prison. they arrested still two unnamed men and grabbed a treasure trophy of contraband. >> this is the first case in maryland where a drone is suspected in a contraband delivery plot. >> reporter: in the stash was a beretta hasn't gun with 13 rounds, 117 strips of opioids, six tobacco bags, 50 bags of synthetic drugs, 11 important dvd's and pre cell phone. >> they should in possession of it. we believe they had every intention of attempting to deliver those what we found in the vehicle into the correctional facility. >> reporter: one inmate found with contraband in their cell is leading investigators to determine if a previous drone flight may have succeeded. >> less eyes on the skies
