yes, it's snowing in western nebraska and eastern colorado, but look at all the showers and thunderstormsugh kansas city and missouri and really there's a lot of storms with this, a lot of warm air with this storm even though it's early february. these are monster storms rolling through kansas city headed across i-70 headed towards st. louis in the next six to seven hours. meanwhile we have the snows back in the rockies. notice it doesn't go much farther than 25 to the west. so it's mainly a foothill snow and a plains snow, but these are unbelievable storms around springfield headed toward 70 and eventually it could go all the way into illinois by tomorrow morning. temps now 43 in bethesda, 45 rockville, 46 downtown, 43 in great falls. so it's just kind of chilly. a touch of winter, it's possible over the weekend. cold and dry tonight. dry most of tomorrow, rain saturday night, maybe mixed changing to snow north and west of town by dawn sunday, and wet snow is possible for us on sunday except for southern maryland. i think you folks will end up with just light rain. how much snow? most of

spent the day digging out after a weekend snowstorm, 8 to 14 inches of snow that fell in western and central nebraskastern nebraska saw -- some areas saw more than a foot of snow. >> six feet of snow in colorado. good skiing, head out west. >> got to work. and hopefully nothing like that headed this way. >> no. in fact, a lot of snow for skiers including myself would like to see snow in the mountains. no snow in the forecast to really work on the snow back. we are look at milder weather headed this way before our next shot for some wintery weather comes middle of the week. right now, let's take a look at the weather camera. clear skies out there. ridge of high pressure building in. we could see areas of fog also developing overnight. temperatures now 37 degrees under clear skies. winds are fairly light. west/northwest at around 6 miles per hour. we've got up to 45 degrees up there. that is right on par where we should be for this time of year. the low was 38. we did pick up a trace of precip and finally a little bit of snow in the d.c. area early this morning. here's a look at the satellite radar pic

that's here in western nebraska. so that concern has been raised. so we put forward legislation that addresses that issue. we put forward legislation that follows the lead of the state of nebraska and says, we will reroute the pipeline in nebras nebraska. for example, rerouting it over here where there's already the existing keystone pipeline. but in the legislation that we've put forward, we say we will reroute the pipeline in nebraska, that issue will be fully addressed, and we do not set a time line on doing it. and we expressly provide that we work with the state of nebraska to do it. nebraska had a special session in november. after their special session, where we all agreed to do the rerouting, they came out, the state of nebraska, their legislature and their governor and their senators support the project. they say, yes, we need to move forward with the project. as you can see, there are many pipelines through there already. nevertheless, we say, okay, the administration said that's an issue. we do the rerouting and we set no time limit to do

nebraska still under a blizzard warning. north eastern sections of colorado. western kansas as well as me -- nebraska. mild air coming in front of this storm. it's going to weaken, a warm front is going to form down to our south and that warm air will be riding over the cooler drier air that's going to be around our region tomorrow and tomorrow night. so we'll see clouds on the increase because that warm air is lifted up and creates clouds. look for a little rain. if it gets chilly enough on sunday morning. once that low passes the winds go back to the northwest it can bring in just enough cold air perhaps for a little bit, a few hours of a little wet snow, sleet mixture west of the city. along the pennsylvania border it may be just a dusting. that's what we're looking for in the city. don't expect to see much of anything. because a lot of cool air is filtering in. even though the radar may show it to reach the ground. we'll clear out sunday afternoon. looks pretty nice later in the day. north winds in -t bay, five to 10 -- in the bay, five to 10 knots. a lot of moonlight out there. tomorrow, sunshine

the conveyor belt wrapping across western and central nebraska.to omaha and back into denver wp we've had so much snow. as much as four feet. the last reported black hawk up there around 9000. we had like 16 inches of snow in the lower elevations. the big storms tend to be in late october, november and in march and april when we get that field of moisture from the gulf of mexico. that's what we have today. we have a warm sector. we have a tornado catch and a couple of tornado warnings in the past hour. this is more of a spring storm in early february. it's going to last through tonight wrapping up tomorrow as you go east on i-80 towards omaha and des moines. the record for a calendar day in february is nine and a half inches we're right about that. the biggest one they seen in february is only 14.2 inches. those big snowstorms occur in the fall and the spring and the winter tends to be snow, but not that much. we're above the six inches in just one day. >> mike, i can't help but to comment your hontough guy stanc. is that required in the snow? i'm
