you can see where in areas of western pennsylvania through canada and also through ohio. so on the whole 1 to 3, in the elevated surfaces with the lift in west virginia and the mountains, maybe 3 to 5, and western maryland, perhaps. big picture today, there's the snow around the great lakes and to the northeast. but this cold front has moved through on the whole, the country well colder than average. but pretty dry. you can see in the inner mountain west, sunny skies, high pressure there rules the roost. there is one thing i want to talk about potentially for tomorrow night. now, here's the forecast rate. this is for this afternoon. what happens is an area of low pressure develops off the carolina coast tomorrow. this is just one computer model's version. there's not a consensus here as to what could happen. but february, notorious for east coast snowstorms, boston could see snow with this. they've only seen 8 inches thus far. so this computer model does bring some snow, maybe an inch or two, 2 1/2 sunday night. just keeping an eye on this, and it moves out to sea. but as

the energy in the upper atmosphere that will bring some isolated snow shower is in ohio and western pennsylvania and upstate new york coming down south which is why we even have a threat for a little snow around baltimore. this shows that the storm is intensifying along the east coast and moving up east and stronger winds even in maryland. we have low pressure off the coast and high pressure building in from the southwest. in between that, we will have sea winds whipping around again. winds are already 10-50 miles per hour and these are the sustained winds. we are expecting these wins to increase today possibly gusting to 40 miles per hour. but temperatures are 28 at the airport and ocean city only 32 and downtown baltimore, 33 degrees. western maryland has temperatures in the teens. we have a couple of graphics to talk about how we have seen storm systems in the month of february. isolated snow showers are possible in the western mountains and as we get into baltimore, mainly an afternoon event not everyone will see them and if we do see any, they will bring it like accumulation. for today, 35

the national weather service has issued winter weather advisories as close as eric county, western pennsylvania, and then it turns to winter storm warnings right in the middle of the country. all that messy winter weather is coming our way. you can see the leading edge of the precipitation has crossed the mississippi, pushing up into the ohio valley. snow moving up into parts of iowa and then it changes to a steady rain in parts of kentucky and tennessee. that wintry mix is going to be moving in here, probably as early as tomorrow afternoon. no problems right now that we can see for the morning rush- hour, just cloudy and cold. it will be shortly after lunch time when the first precipitation starts to break out. we have to start making plans for perhaps some slippery conditions tomorrow afternoon and maybe even during rush hour. it continues into the evening rush-hour and finally changes over to just brain as temperatures warmer a little bit tomorrow night. the storm pulls off the coast saturday afternoon and we will some clearing for the second half of the weekend. sunday looks like the best d
