i am on the western soma planning task force. i represent business. i have -- there is the development going on on eighth and harris. i want to see -- we can up businesses there. so does not become a planned community. i want to see people out in the street. that is what makes san francisco special. i would like to see -- [unintelligible] there is the vietnamese part out there. i never noticed it before. we have a portion of the city. i would like to help out people. it would be lovely to see if that community could move in and have the shops and businesses and hardware stores and coffee shops, a shoe repair and all that sort of stuff. that is where i am matt. out would like to see san francisco become a place that is attractive for everybody. a place people love to come to. it is but we can go much further. i do with the small business community. i am supported by the council of district merchants and the small business network. i've been to the bayview merchants association meeting a number of times and to the haight-ashbury. i am a dedicated person

management partnerships, octavius circulation studies, bay shore intermodal access the study, western soma neighborhood transportation plan, and major improvements to our forecasting models. we also obtained a trout -- caltrans grant for the bayview hunters point mobility solutions study. this is a seminal effort on how to do more with what we have and to knit the community together in the process. we're looking forward to completing the study this year. we have also made progress on the bike county study which is a multi-jurisdictional, multi- agency, multi-year study to look at the southeast corner of the city and adjacent areas in some detail county. in 2011, this effort resulted in priority projects worth over $600 million, including a geneva brt line, reconfigured candlestick interchange, and other improvements. i anticipate you will have a report on that in the next couple of months as well. the chair already mentioned the agreement on the presidio parkway second phase funding. i will not review that again. we also have underway the process for getting the van ness brt project on the

when we were at the committee of development at western soma, there was someone who did the old "there are needles in my garbage, there are needles in my st.." i know for a fact that needles are not, i would say 90% of the time -- not associated with my life. i met someone from the drug policy who went to europe, who went to a safe dance community. i think they should come here and give a presentation about what the europeans are doing around making drug policy part of the night life industry, as well as the kind of drugs people do, so we can clear up those misnomers people are bringing to the table. if we can get the drug policy alliance night life policy person to talk to us, i think it would be really helpful. >> commissioners, i know you want to get out of your -- >> we had public comment in the beginning. unless this is chattering.
