the light blue towards the west, surrounding the area, already a winter storm warning in western virginia, those watches will be upgraded soon. here's what we expect snow begins to move in. and then it will just increase in coverage and intensity throughout friday night into saturday. i think right now saturday morning could be when we see the highest amount of snow per hour. it's just the way it looks, although it will be snowing. we'll have blizzard conditions all day saturday. this looks like it will wind down after midnight saturday into early sunday morning. so weekend snow impact is definitely high. this is a blizzard with some historic amounts of snowfall that will we'll be measuring in feet. again snow arrives friday evening, heaviest saturday morning, widespread major travel impacts. we have tweaked the snowfall map from yesterday we're comfortable with these amounts in the order of 1 to 2 feet for most of the area. the pink shading is where bee think the highest amounts will total up but this is paralyzing for everyone. this will favor the high elevations just west of washington
