. >>> we had whacky weather today. let's get on a check on the forecast. >> that tropical moisture we've been tracking for six or seven days that could impact the bay area is now here. the bulk is down in southern california. you can see here across the bay area, it's getting fired up right now. enough uplift at 300 millibars, about 2020,000 or 30,000 feet where airplanes play that it's producing more scattered showers and thunderstorms. this is the current radar as it scans around some of the strongest activity ♪ south bay. we've had reported lightning strikes in the past 15 to 30 mine nits south of down down san jose. a smaller batch of heavier rain full is moving into cam britain park and south san jose. this is around willow glenn and also south san jose with some stronger lightning strikes. right now it's light to moderate rainfall but in the south bay it's slick off the roadways kwiblt. it's a long time since we've seen rainfall like this. up in the north bay near santa rosa off to the west, we have a batch of mo

we had wild and whacky weather with lightning strikes and thunderstorms.now but still a little trickle of active weather. in the east bay, area of moisture union city, fremont. light precipitation and mainly sprinkles. wider area down to the south bay to the santa cruz mountains across cupertino and sunnyvale across san jose. liadryer air is replacing the moisture. a chance for thunderstorms winding down overnight. however, there is still the chance of cloud-to-ground lightning strikes. red flag warning remains in effect for the north bay mountains and valleys of delta east bay hills and valleys and diablo range. could be limited rainfall and locally gusty winds but the threat is diminishing. tomorrow by afternoon the moisture out of here. mainly sunny skies and warm conditions in the inland east bay where we will see highs in the upper 80s tomorrow. seven-day forecast. from friday through sunday mainly calm conditions with high temperatures inland in the mid 80s. 70s around the way. upper 50s on the coast and back to 90 degrees inland on monday. starting

that we have abundant natural gas in this country and at the time i thought it sounded kind of whackynow time has gone by and we have this fracking boom. the price of natural gas has plummeted, if everyone had listened to you we would be using the cheap natural gas for transportation. are you frustrated? is that still a possibility, and have we gotten off track with other forms of transportation fuels, you know, especially when we talk about biofuels? >> well, it's, it's interesting to me because, the heavy-duty trucking is going to natural gas because it is $2 a gallon cheaper. it will happen. see, we did this in 1972 when we went from gasoline to diesel. it took five years to make the change. you're going through the same dynamics again now. you're going to go to alternative fuel which is natural gas. it's cleaner by 30%. it's domestic and it's, it saves you, 2/3 of our trade deficit is the purchase of foreign oil. melissa: yeah. >> and we need to have a north american energy alliance which would be canada and mexico and the united states. work with those people and have the keyston
