, this letter contained metadata suggesting it came from the white house, specifically an office called the white house communications agencytly what that means. we've confirmed with a source close to the committee that indeed metadata from that letter suggests that the letter was authored by the white house communications agency. now jeffrey clark has decided as of this evening he is not only going to plead the fifth the next time he appears before the committee, but his next appearance before the committee will not be tomorrow as was previously scheduled. he now says he has a medical issue that precludes his attendance. joining us now is california congresswoman and member of the january 6th investigation, zoe lofgren, congressman lofgren, it's a real pleasure to see you. thanks very much for joining us. >> thanks for having me, rachel. >> i know that some of this is matters that's in the middle of the investigation and isn't necessarily publicly facing. everything i've suggested is publicly facing. let me ask you if i've misstated any of it? >> not that i'm aware of, no. it's interesting, isn't it? >> it is interesting.

we also have a white house communications agency. they are in charge of communications. that's a joint command coming out of the main command in downtown d.c. >> so can you tell us a little bit about how camp david has changed over the years? it was very rustic when fdr first came to camp david. there's been some notable additions to the complex. you've mentioned there is a chaplain, so there's a chapel at camp david. talk a little bit about the buildings and the activities and how that complex has changed over time. >> go back to fdr again. apparently why the navy has it is because he took the sailors off the uss potomac who now had a job and took it with him to camp david and he also brought them for security. fdr was there in the long winter months. truman not a fan of camp david. preferred to go to key west, but put a perimeter around the place, had the trees pushed back from the cabins, and then during eisenhower's time, it was winterized. heating was installed in all the cabins. very rustic and still maintained that, but over the years, more use of the family and a

committee noted among the transcripts that they wanted to ask him about whether the white house communications agencyer to georgia state legislators, seeking to effectively tell them, don't send biden's electors to the joint session and i think this is interesting because again it ties the white house to what mr. clarke was doing. >> even as clarke has agreed to appear, he's expected to invoke his fifth amendment right not to answer any of these broad swath of questions. so how does this whole thing play out? i mean, no one's done this yet in this investigation. so, how do you expect the committee to handle it? >> that's a very good question. we spoke to congressman jamie raskin after he came out of the select committee's business meeting when they recommended to hold jeffrey clark in contempt and recommended the house to pursue that vote. and he said, look, he may come in, as in, clarke may come into the deposition and he may claim the fifth amendment to every single question that is of interest to the committee beyond, what is his name, when did he meet people like scott perry, so if he does, then
