i'm fredricka whitfield. the cnn newsroom continues with jim acosta right now. >>> you're live in the cnn newsroom. i'm jim acosta in washington. we begin with russian missiles slamming into a civilian neighborhood in ukraine, killing 13 and wounding dozens more. some of them children, none of them involved in the war between russia and ukraine. they are civilians. it happened in the city of zaporizhzhia. at least six cruise missiles and several anti-aircraft missiles exploded into homes and buildings. right now rescuers are combing the rubble hoping to find survivors. remember, just yesterday this happened. a massive explosion on a bridge that dealt a major blow to russia's military supply capabilitying. ukraine has not claimed responsibility for that damage, but an aide to presukraine's president said this may be an act of retaliation. here's a view of the explosion we didn't see yesterday. russian officials say three people were killed in all of this. nick paton walsh joins me now. it looks like russian re

i'm fredricka whitfield.ew today, the search for an accused serial killer ends with a suspect behind bars and now authorities are looking for motive. the police chief in stockton, california, says 44-year-old wesley brownlee was out hunting for a new victim when they arrested him. >> as officers made contact with him, he was wearing dark clothing and had a mask around his neck. he was also armed with a firearm when he was taken into custody. we are sure we stopped another killing. >> cnn's ka mill la bernal joining us live with the latest. police had surveillance teams on brownlee after the shooting deaths of six men, so how did they narrow in their search and then make an arrest? >> hey, fred. yeah, they were watching him. according to police, two things contributed to this arrest. the first one being all the tips, the help from the community, because everyone was watching the surveillance video that police had put out and calling police trying to help them in any way they could and the other aspect was old-
