joining us now from the event is the executive director of whitman walker health.ave you join us. got to lot of rain drops around you. it's so amazing to see how many people come out when they're so passionate about the cause. >> you've got that right. can you ever imagine a better reason not to do an aids walk or any other community event. but there are thousands of people here showing what's in their heart and soul in the fight against hiv in d.c. we at whitman walker health are grateful. >> what are you doing today specifically for the cause and why is it so important that people rally around it? >> a lot of folks know that much of what we do for hiv treatment, prevention and education there's a lot of funding sources, government or private sources. but still need donations. there's a fair amount of what we do to take care of people living with hiv there's no money for it. we have a number of things the medical adherence the group that works closely with people that take their medications every day and to receive treatments. we purchase flu vaccines and hiv test
