news 4's tracy wilkins has more on the investigation. >> reporter: people who live in this community say the emmers were a quiet but involved family. the wife involved in the homeowner's association since this community was built. they're surprised by the fact that last night this home was the scene of a murder. >> a little unnerving to have something like this happen around here. >> would you imagine it would have been a murder? >> oh, no, not in this area. >> after 10:15 last night, they responded to the 1200 block of colvin meadows lane. once on the scene, they discovered the body of 62-year-old lawrence emmer stabbed to death. >> we heard the helicopters, we just figured it was something with the fire would bes. it's a very quiet neighborhood except on the 4th of july. >> as police searched crowd side of the home, an investigation soon revealed their suspect was actually 25-year-old casey emmer. the victim's son. he's also the one who falsely reported the break-in at the home. >> the suspect is the one who called police initially. and initially he reported a break-in. but officer

. >> news4's tracee wilkins joins us live from the scene with the latest. trace see, what can you tell us? is. >> the parkway is open again, lots of commuters happy about that. traffic is moving freely, but for hours, more than three hours, the parkway was shut down while they looked for a suspect. let me show you the vehicle that's at the center of this investigation. it was a white jeep, parked on the side of this construction zone. the purpose of that jeep, it was there to actually catch speeders coming through the work zone. they had a contracted worker sitting inside of that jeep, and that was his job. as he was doing that today, some strange man walked up and banged on the back windshield of his vehicle with a shotgun. then police say the man then approached the front of the jeep, and began banging on the front windshield with a hammer until he broke the windshield, putting at least two holes in the front windshield there. the worker crawled out, got over to the side of the jeep, protected himself as the man began to yellin coherently, and as quickly

news 4's tracee wilkins is live with the latest on the new developments. tracee, good morning. >> reporter: lots of developments happening in the case against dominique strauss-kahn. some legal experts saying the case is on the verge of collapse. investigators for the prosecution have uncovered major holes in the credibility of the housekeeper who alleges she was attacked by strauss-kahn. according to "the new york times," a law enforcement official who is familiar with the case is saying that the housekeeper who accused strauss-kahn of sexually assaulting her in his manhattan hotel suite back in may has repeatedly lied. although they found evidence of a sexual encounter between strauss-kahn and the 32-year-old woman, it's now being reported that prosecutors don't believe a lot about what the accuser has told him about what happened in the suite or about herself. there's word that, in light of these new developments surrounding the accuser, strauss-kahn's attorneys will ask the international monetary fund leader will be released from house arrest. it's exp
