that one where a person was trying to kidnap kids near willard middle school. alameda police are still trying to figure out if these incidents are connected, but law enforcement agencies across the east bay want parents to keep their guards up. >> keep an eye out. yeah. not just for my kids but other kids. >> this morning alameda police are not confirming whether the green van driving near ruby bridges elementary school. the driver there was attempting to kidnap anyone. >>> one person hurt in an early morning house fire in vallejo. this happened just after 4:00 this morning at the intersection of locust and tennessee. that's about half a mile east of i-80. crews say when they arrived they found fire coming from the garage and the front door. you can see how big this got. that fire contained to about half of the home but just an enormous fire. one person inside at the time made it out with minor burns. that person's been taken to the hospital but should be okay. and the cause of that fire is under investigation. >>> napa county fairgrounds which was home to a lo

teachers are reminding students about safety after a man tried to lure students at willard middle schoolminivan on friday. janet oh has the story. >> reporter: this morning as students head back to school they're more aware of their surroundings. >> we don't want our children to be frightnd by this. we want them to be alerted. >> reporter: alerting the community is just what the district did after two attempted abductions on friday morning. >> i got several messages from the school. e-mails and voice males. >> fortunate that no one apparently was harmed, but it raised the awareness a lot among the parents and the kids around here, which is probably a good thing. >> reporter: gary castroline already had a talk with his seventh grader. >> they told me like never listen or talk to a stranger that you don't know. >> reporter: that lesson will continue in class today when teachers also have a talk with their students telling them to stay away from strangers. this after a man tried to lure two students into his van near willow park. minutes later he tried to lure another young girl a few block
