william height is leaving -- hite is leaving in a couple of weeks to lead philadelphia's school system. i have to ask you, mr. allen crawley, the interim, has never lead a school district. this is a 123,000 student system that is also without a deputy superintendent, as i understand it. in the past two months lost several senior administrators. how difficult will it be for mr. crawley to take over. >> actually, the board has been very deliberate about what our intentions are for dr. crawley. we believe his experience and commitment to schools for 32 years will be helpful for the school district. we realize that we have some vacancies at the executive cabinet level but because we have set forth the vision and goals and laid out a plan, we believe that dr. crawley can come in and enhance that. >> i understand a permanent replacement isn't expected until next spring. why will it take so long to get someone in the position. >> under maryland law we can't name the permanent superintendent until july 1. more importantly, we want to have a very transparent and engaged process, make sure that the community is fully engaged
