william mcquain. they arrested jane mcquaine's ex-husband, curtis lopez in north carolina and charged him with first-degree murder. they found jane mcquaine's car but not william. lopez was recently seen removing property from jane's home and placeing it inside her car. -- placing it inside her car. investigators said that mcquain had suffered trauma to her body but the police would not reveal more information about her death pending an autopsy. it sounds like william's mother had been dealing with domestic violence leading up to her death. >> we would see them all the time and each one of them is heartbreaking. it brings everything forward for us. we do an examination of everything that we go to see if we can make one more change better. >> reporter: william was a sixth grader at martin luther king, jr. middle school a spokesperson for the school will not discuss william's case but said that the school normally sends a recorded phone call home after an unexplained absence. and they're sharing their timeline with the police. >>> and the big concern this morning for parents in annapolis, reports are coming
