and she was appointed by then mayor willie brown. she immediately took me under her wing. she was very interested in the efficacy work i was doing. she told me a lot about her work and what were her key issues. she really wanted to get to know the community and address legislative issues. so, she served on the council about a lot of years, about ten plus years. and she served several terms. she was elected cochair in 2004. some of the issues that were very important to jul were effective communication access at the workplace. she was very interested on unemployment issues facing people with disability in the county and city of san francisco. she believed and work very hard for equal pay. i just want to give you a bit of her background. she worked here for the city and county of san francisco at the department of building inspections for many years. she also pursued a communications degree in san francisco state. so that's where her first interest grew in effective communication and access issues. some of the projects she was involved in and the committee she served on was
