katherine creag is on staten island where this all happened in willowbrook. a terribly sad story, kat. >> reporter: absolutely heartbreaking, michael. victim tell us she was a good mother. they are devastated. according to police, though, it was her boyfriend, the father of her youngest child, michael siex sykes accused of killing that baby and the mother. he has no criminal history according to police. it was yesterday morning investigators say he stabbed that mother and her children at this ramada inn hotel that served several homeless families. rebecca cutler, the mom lived here with her three children. her 2-year-old daughter named miracle survived. according to a sergeant i talked with, she underwent surgery and remains in the hospital. her condition critical but stable. mayor de blasio expressed his outrage and he said this. >> there's nothing more horrible than the loss of a child. nothing more horrible than the notion of an adult who would attack an innocent child. this is an atrocious crime. >> reporter: again, the suspect, are looking for. investiga
