and you speak of wilma. it developed in the same spot wilma developed six years ago.ome a category 3 storm in the next day or two. the initial course of this is going to bring it towards the eastern coast of the yucatan, very, very wilma-like. we'll hopefully keep it below wilma strength, likely to happen, and hopefully away from the u.s. can't guarantee that yet. winds at 110 miles an hour. here's the forecast track. pretty confident over the next two days. like rafael spoke of, we expect to do make landfall early tomorrow as a category 3 storm. cozumel, cancun right in the eye of it and likely steering off towards the east and weakening somewhat, but if it maintains its strength, it's likely that it goes a little farther north. that's the bad news. we're hoping for a weakening and keeping it to part of the south. a lot of uncertainty once we get this thing past cancun, mexico. closer to home, showers rolling across parts of the great lakes, and a snowstorm, that would be typical of november or even december, in parts of colorado. these are some of the high plains. t

going back a couple years ago, back to 2005, we had hurricane wilma that formed in this area, came up, hit cancun and went down to south florida. it was a late-season storm and did a lot of damage. that's not what we want to happen but a couple of computers are hinting at that scenario. cancun will be the first one at risk for this storm. this is the new forecast. these come out every six hours. we got this in about 10, 15 minutes ago. this will be a slow-moving storm system. it's now here. it will take until saturday, the hurricane center is saying, to be over the top of cancun. right now they're saying it would be a category 1 hurricane at that time. if you have travel plans, middle to the end of this week heading down towards cancun, cozumel, those are the areas of concern. eventually, though, we could have to deal with this in cuba, maybe south florida. our computer models take it up towards cancun, a bunch of them take it just south florida possibly or maybe towards the florida straits. that's still about six days away. if you're traveling at the end of this week or next weekend

and these hurricanes love this spot in the western caribbean this is where wilma fired up in october about four, five years ago. this storm is just in the very perfect spot right now to get very intense in a hurry. it's all the way up now to a category 2 hurricane. you can see where south florida is here. here's cuba and cancun. when a storm gets in this location, it has to hit somewhere. it can't escape and go out to sea. they usually don't weaken too much in this area of the world. someone will get some devastation from this storm. unfortunately it looks now that most likely it will be up near cancun, northern portions of belize may get clipped, too. the hurricane center does think it should be near there as a category 2, then weaken on friday, early in the morning, to a category 1. the good news for cancun t will probably be a category 3 hurricane as we go throughout the next couple of days, weaken down to a 2 and then a category 1 hopefully by the time we get to that period. then only a tropical storm for western cuba. we have not ruled out the storm heading for south florida. th
