delia goncalves joins us live now from the wilson building with more this morning. good morning, delia. >> reporter: good morning, mike. mayor vince gray says he ran for office because he loves the district of columbia, but according to this poll, it appears the love the district had for him is nearly been at this point. 37% including those who rallied in support of the mayor outside the wilson building yesterday want gray to stay in office but listen to this. 52% want him to resign now. breaking down that 52%, 48% of african-americans and that was a huge base for the mayor to get him into office in 2010 now want him out of office. and the mayor's support among women is dwindling down to 6% from 37% for white women. east of the river where the mayor lives that has dropped 40%. three council members have called for the mayor's resignation after learning of the $653,000 illegal shadow campaign but others, including council member tommy wells and vincent orange are taking a different approach. >> we have time to hear some more facts. i think the mayor has to explain hi
