reporting live in windsor. christie smith, nbc, bay area news. thank you christie. now what a difference 24 hours make last night. at this time, much of the bay area was getting hit hard by rain. well, today the sun was out giving for most of the day. what that does is it gives us a clear view of what yesterday's storm left behind and what needs to be fixed before tomorrow's storm. the view you're looking right now is of niello road in guerneville. obviously flooded in that area right in front of us. you're taking off live right now with nbc bay area's drone ranger. as we fly above the scene of the flooded and closed road, we can see, of course, a rv or mobile home on the right which is flooded as long as well as that home. this scene repeated all up and down areas about next to the russian river. niello road runs parallel to the russian river up in guerneville, and you can see where it has flown over the banks and closed down that river right now. scenes like this all over the north bay after yesterday's storm, and maybe as well after the storm that's coming up. le

a burglary at a home in windsor prompted the investigation, and it all led police to the south americanheft group. officials say this organized group mainly targets asian business owners across the u.s. using disguises, surveillance and other covert tactics. police were able to track these people down to a home in santa rosa, where they were all arrested. they're now facing several felonies. several bay area school districts are preparing staff for the possibility of immigration officers entering their schools in the south bay. staff at the alum rock union district's immigration support resource group are putting final touches on district wide training, which will happen later this week. this training will focus on how to respond to ice enforcement and how to address concerns from parents and students. immigrants rights groups and california leaders continue to criticize president trump's immigration crackdown, including attorney general rob bonta, who insists california will remain an inclusive place. >> california all students have the right to an education, regardless of their immigr

nbc bay area's christie smith joins us live in windsor and christie. family was home when that landslide hit them. well, the homeowner says he was actually at work at the time and got a call from his wife, who was home, and she wasn't home alone. he says there was a sense of panic from her, as you can imagine, a very scary experience. the skies have cleared a day after heavy rain poured in the north bay, leaving a clear view of the damage left by a landslide. at this home in unincorporated santa rosa. as far as we know, the rainfall had been 4 or 5 days. it got to a saturation point in the ground and probably about 25ft of mud just kind of slid into the house and took out the house. robert boyd was still at work yesterday when his wife called trying to explain what happened. it was difficult to understand what she was saying and she was obviously panicking. she didn't know if she could get out. but. it was just so scary. another person in the home called 911. firefighters arrived quickly and managed to get everyone out, telling us. thankfully, there we
