in 1946, during the general assembly, we held a joint session to receive sir winston spencer churchill. who came to us in his capacity as a private citizen and made a very well received address. that was just two days after his very famous speech in missouri about an iron curtain descending upon europe after world war ii. >> we should stand together in malice [ inaudible ]. in greed for nothing. but in defense of those those which we hold dear, not only for our own benefit, but because we believe they mean the hopper and the happiness of long generations of men.
