you're in michigan, it was closer here in wisconsin.resident trump was the first republican to win wisconsin in about 30 years. he won the state by just 23,000 voters but here in milwaukee, which you mentioned, is a democratic stronghold, there were more than 41,000 voters who stayed home after voting in 2012. so that was part of the reason why the democratic national convention was going to be here and it still will be here, but it will be largely virtual. they were hoping to excite democratic voters on the ground and get them invested in vice president joe biden. without that being here, that's somewhat of a lost opportunity. despite that, when you talk to people here, democratic voters on the ground, as i said, they feel a little bit more optimistic about their chances this time around. they point to president trump and his appeal of what do african-americans have to lose that you heard in 2016. they believe that fell flat. they brought a point to the protests that you're seeing. listen to a little bit of my conversations yesterday.
