this is new information emerging just in the last few minutes from wjla. the latest news on a day full of developments. i want to bring in cnn justice reporter evan perez right now. evan tell us what's in this medical report according to this report from wjla? >> they say this medical report shows it's a preliminary report provided to the police department, and it's part of this report that went to the state attorney's office shows that he suffered a head injury and the telltale sign an injury in the head of freddie gray that matches a bolt that's in the back of the van. now, again we haven't seen this report and don't know whether it's completely accurate what they're reporting, but that is what they say this preliminary report that was provided to the police says. >> reporter: and also, the report from wjla says the driver of the van -- there's six police officers in question here and we've been told five of them gave interviews to the police that night, i think even. that day, within the 24-hour period of freddie gray being arrested and becoming paralyz

after being reported abc's washington affiliate, wjla is reporting gray's fatal injuries were not causeds video taped arrest. wjla is citing multiple law enforcement sources who say his injury was caused when he slammed into something in the police van that he was traveling in. apparently breaking his neck. sources also say a head injury he sustained matches a bolt in the back of the van. meanwhile, nbc affiliate wbal's jane miller had an interview with a prisoner who was in the police van with freddie gray. >> the morning of april 12th i went to the store to get a cigarette. you know what i mean? >> donte allen is a 22-year-old west baltimore resident picked up by city police the morning of april 12th on suspicion of a minor offense. it happened at the corner of pennsylvania and north avenues. the city's camera system showed picking up alan at the same time carrying freddie gray. alan did not know a man was already in the van. freddie gray was on the right side. alan was loaded on to the left side. a solid divider separated them. in an interview, alan described what he heard. what did y
