good afternoon, president wolfram. i do want to say just as an drukt opening remark, i think the most important -- we want to make sure we flag that for you. you know, the -- there's a number of reasons why the project is proposing to do so. most importantly, these buildings have been in the -- unused for about 40 years and they're in a state of severe disarray and decay. the roofs were removed from the buildings and they're substantially degraded. i think there's some dispute about the availability of station a as an age resource. i think -- as a significant resource. but the building has lost its integrity because half of it had been demolished. i'll show you images of the buildings as we go through. this is station a, this is a building that is a very long brick building, half of which was demolished quite sometime ago, so you can see what's left is a long wall that i think is quite architecturally interesting, and a lot of people i think look at it and think it's interesting, but it's actually an interior wall of t

>> that concludes our presentation. >> president wolfram: okay. is there any member of the public that wishes to come forward? yes, please come to the microphone. >> hello. i'm peter lindenfall, and i director the potrero hill rehabilitation project. i just want to emphasize the importance of the preserving the brick buildings on this site, particularly station a, the gas house, the gas meter shop, and the gas compressor building. a lot of these buildings are unfamiliar with people principally because you can't see them. they're fenced off at the moment by -- excuse me, by pg&e fencing. i've taken one picture of the north end of station a, and you can only see parts of the gate house, gas meter shop and gas compressor building. there's been a lot of talk about maintaining the industrial feeling of the neighborhood, and because of that, i think it would be crazy to take any of these down. i mean, using industrial materials would be no substitute for saving buildings that actually are part of the historic fabric of the neighborhood and are very beau

anita diaz, jim warshel, cynthia gomez, anthony vercamp, mike buehler, andrew wolfram, cindy heightsman, jonathan haber, and susan millhouse. >> thank you to the committee. i'm anita denz, d-e-n-z. i'm here to represent the victoria alliance of san francisco. we're the city's oldest, all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to historic preservation. founded in 1973, we protested the destruction of the paris dome and went on to see that. we've raised and awarded $400,000 in grant-worthy projects. many went to fine arts, windmills of golden gate park. when it comes to the old mint, we're fashion at about this historical landmark of the city. we've endowed it with $23,000 in grants over the years. most recently in 2014, we were able to repaint the two historic receiving rooms, cashier's room and receiving room. we had some pushback from the office of economic work force development about this because they were taken over stewardship, but we persisted and the rooms are glorious today and the city and their events contractor, nonplus ultra, has benefited greatly from these rooms. the
